Nia Technique is a mindful dance fitness modality that, with the right instructor, has the potential to heal trauma through embodiment, nonverbal self-expression, and self-determination. Participants are encouraged to sense their bodies, choose how they want to do the moves, and learn to listen to their body’s voice. Regular participants receive sensory re-integration, greater ability to feel joy, and the agency needed to self-transform – while also building physical fitness.
