Paula Chambers, Ph.D.

In addition to my academic degrees (B.F.A in Film, M.A. in English, Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition), I am a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Nia Technique and have taken every Nia training that exists. I have eagerly acquired additional training in Franklin Method, Experiential Anatomy, Grief Yoga, Movement for Trauma Survivors, and Anti-Racism for Wellness Professionals. I recently won another teaching award – this time for teaching Nia. My language skills allow me to elevate the movement experience while getting people IN to their bodies.

As a veteran of show business and academia, I understand firsthand the unique pressures on actors and graduate students. I grew up witnessing my mother’s process as a Method actor studying with Eric Morris, and I am the only Nia teacher in the world with decades of experience supporting graduate students mental health.
